Our comprehensive physical and mental health programs support girls’ holistic wellness and development. From medical check ups to counseling services, from weekly nutritious meals to health education workshops, we work to ensure that our participants develop and sustain their overall well-being amidst a broader environment of political, environmental, security, and nutritional instability.

We are proud of the progress and reach of our health efforts as they have evolved over the last few years. For example, in 2022, we initiated a psychosocial support program in Les Coteaux, collaborating with the Haitian Association of Psychology and supported by funding from the Obama Foundation’s Girls Opportunity Alliance. This program conducted 50 psychoeducation workshops across various community centers, vastly exceeding our initial target by reaching 4,000 individuals. The success of these workshops led to extensive group and individual therapy sessions, addressing a broad range of mental health needs.

Further enhancing our programming, in 2023, we expanded our staff training to include sexual education and safe technology use, directly supporting our health education sessions for participants. We also increased community health initiatives, focusing on antibiotic misuse, personal and oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive health measures like breast self-examination and cholera prevention. These programs have not only broadened our impact but also deepened our community engagement and participant support.

In 2024, we offered new menstrual hygiene education programs and organized a mobile health clinic across our program sites that provided 648 participants with a comprehensive medical health check-up, appropriate medical care for the specific health problems present, and a follow up plan for participants requiring more in depth medical care.
