Sharona Shuster

Director of Development and Communications

Sharona joined Lidè as Director of Development and Communications in June 2021. Her career over the last two decades has focused on advancing opportunities for women and girls and fostering social transformation at the local, national, and international levels. She brings professional experience working with at-risk adolescent girls in Boston, advocating for women’s rights and gender equality in Washington, D.C., creating and teaching online courses on the empowerment of women, and many years of experience leading organizational learning, impact evaluation, fundraising, and diversity, equity, and inclusion at Convergence, a U.S. based non-profit focused on collaborative problem-solving for social change.

Whether accelerating global maternal health innovation in East Africa and India with Ashoka, teaching graduate students at Georgetown University, or enabling ideologically diverse leaders to collaborate in tackling some of America’s biggest challenges, Sharona centers relationships, results, and equity in her work.

Sharona has a Master’s Degree in Education, focusing on adolescent development from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two children and enjoys singing, gardening, and spending time in nature.
